Talking about compostable food packaging at Pro2Pac and IFE 2019
KCC Managing Director Kevin Clarke was interviewed in March, at the joint exhibition of IFE (the International Food Exhibition) and Pro2Pac, its sister exhibition where food manufacturers can source the ideal packaging for their products.
Naturally, this year there was much greater interest in eco-friendly packaging solutions than ever before, and KCC Packaging was swamped with visitors wanting to know more about riji, the compostable food packaging that’s been designed to replace CPET and other plastics in the food chain.
Here, Kevin explains how packaging made from riji, which made from natural fibres and coated with a compostable, food-friendly barrier to ensure its stability for items requiring a relatively long shelf-life, also has other key benefits for food producer, retailer and consumer alike.
